A Few Words About David J Silva
I am an extremely hard worker who leads by example. I take great pride in my work
and always strive to make the client happy by delivering quality work on time and
under budget. I can work independently, yet flourish as a great team player. I maintain
a positive approach to work in any situation, and am always ready to take initiative.
For the past 2 years I have served as a Senior Software Developer at Quantum Group where I
have built Ecommerce websites, Direct Marketing Campaign Management tools, and
automated internal processes with software. Before this I spent 6 wonderful years
at AT&T where
I served as Lead Developer and earned the role of Solutions Architect for a high
traffic, enterprise level Web application that took 2.8 - 3.1 Million callers on
a monthly basis. This included leading a team of programmers to meet rigorous deployment
deadlines.
The College Days: I graduated Magna Cum Laude with University Honors from Northern Illinois University
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations and Information Management in 2002.
My senior research project, "Combining Operations Management and Information Systems:
Assessing Alumni Preparations for the Workforce" was even published in
the reputable Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Volume3, Number
2, July 2005.
What do I do for fun? I play 12" softball 2-3 nights per week during
the summer/fall. One of my favorite things to do is go to Wrigley Field to catch a ballgame.
In fact, one of my life goals is to go to all 30 ballparks. I'm already half-way
there as I've been to 15 ballparks.
I'm a Die-Hard Cubs fan and believe "Next Year Is Here". Also love the Bears and
the Bulls. I currently live in Gilberts, Illinois with my lovely wife Nikki who
I met on the campus of NIU.
